AI-Enabled Data Lifecycles Optimisation and Data Spaces: The PLIADES Initiative

AI-Enabled Data Lifecycles Optimisation and Data Spaces: The PLIADES Initiative

If you ever wondered what else there is to see in AI and Robotics, we’ve got news for you. Hypertech has started a collaboration with a team of highly skilled partners for the PLIADES project. The project is set to revolutionise the state-of-the-art data space reference architectures, driving technological advances in AI and Robotics. By pioneering AI-enabled tools, PLIADES aims to integrate data life cycles, within and across data spaces. This initiative emphasises sustainable data creation methods like compression, filtering, and normalisation, ensuring efficient and eco-friendly storage solutions.

Project key goals and characteristics

  • Ensurin Data Privacy: PLIADES prioritises data privacy and sovereignty through stringent standards and decentralised protocols, safeguarding data-producing organisations and citizens. By using extended metadata, the project introduces AI-based brokers and connectors to streamline data sharing, enhancing the interoperability of previously isolated data entities.
  • Enhancing Discovery: At the same time, interoperability is promoted through active data discovery services and cross-domain AI connectors that will enable the creation of linked data spaces. This way, real-time data evaluation will be facilitated by advanced data quality assessment services, offering high standards of data integrity.
  • Advancing Key Technologies: One of the project’s key goals is to use key technologies to deploy integrated data space, reduce carbon footprints, and promote a greener future. This will be achieved by developing an ecosystem that enhances CCAM and ADAS/AD car technologies and reshapes HRI for robot operators and healthcare patients.
  • Building a Versatile Data Exchange Ecosystem: To exchange data securely and seamlessly, PLIADES facilitates cross-domain data sharing, allowing users from diverse data spaces. By extending the IDS RAM specifications with cross-domain data services, the project enhances IDS Connectors' capabilities and promotes decentralised data management.
  • Comprehensive Data Governance and Management: Each data space within PLIADES offers services for data governance, management, identity management, certification, and other domain-specific services. The project follows the IDS RAM v4.0 data exchange paradigm, involving data providers and consumers, with certification authorities ensuring legitimacy. PLIADES' cross-domain services integrate information from various domains, promoting interoperability and enhancing the overall data exchange framework.

The PLIADES project stands at the forefront of advancing data utilisation in AI and Robotics, ensuring secure, efficient, and eco-friendly data management and sharing across diverse domains.

Collaboration with EU Initiatives

PLIADES will establish extensive synergies with EU initiatives, contributing to the development of models, strategies, and technologies for a Common European Data Space. The project's outcomes will be validated through six use cases in mobility, healthcare, industrial, energy, and green deal sectors, demonstrating the real-world impact of advanced data spaces.
Hypertech’s contribution
Hypertech is actively involved in the dissemination and exploitation activities of the PLIADES project. Our company is leading the dissemination and communication activities and participating in the project's exploitation and business plans for scaling up and commercialising its results.

The project will be completed on June 30th, 2027. Stay tuned, for further updates.
